Oral Thrush

Yeast(fungal) infections in the form of creamy white lesions or line and bumps all over the mouth -tongue and inside the cheeks.


Immune system helps to maintain balance between micro organisms inside the mouth but sometimes the count of CANDIDA ALBICANS  increases leading to thrush.


Adults and Children:

  • Creamy raised white lesions over inside cheeks.

  • Soreness , burning sensation , difficulty in swallowing and eating.

  • Slight bleeding when rubbed. 

  • Loss of taste.

  • Cracking of corner of mouth.

Infants and breast feeding mother:

  • Red, cracked, itchy nipples.

  • Painful during feeding. 

  • Pain in the breast. 

  • Shiny, flaky area near nipple.

Risk Factors:

  • Weakened immune system.

  • Diabetes.

  • Vaginal yeast infections.

  • Medications. 

  • Denture wearers.


  • Rinsing your mouth warm saline water. 

  • Brushing twice. 

  • Check on dietary food. 

  • maintaining good sugar level. 


  • Anti thrush drugs - nystatin, miconazole.

  • Topical oral suspension.

  • Amphotericin B.
